I don’t know what it is about the Cotswolds, but wherever I went, I saw customer service I don’t see in East Anglia.
At a DIY shop, the assistant was just as helpful with advising on me where to get Cotswolds stones as with recommending cream tea places in the area.
At a local village pub, my peppermint tea arrived with a delightful shortbread biscuit and the pub manager even offered me the recipe when I complimented her on her bake.
I went to a stunning hotel for an amazing cream tea experience (yes, I know another one), and the staff went out of their way to help me finding a place to stay in the area which offered rooms within my price range for that evening. The receptionist even took the trouble of making the online booking for me as I didn’t have access to the web!
And the list goes on. There was not a day when I didn’t see great customer service in action.
You would only very occasionally get this sort of service here in East Anglia. Perhaps it’s time to leave the region and move somewhere where people are just nice and pleasant human beings…
